Waste in Place Teacher Training Workshop June 14, 2012 Register NOW!
Keep Texas Beautiful in partnership with Keep Pearland Beautiful will train you in one of America’s most popular environmental education curricula. A KTB trainer will lead the workshop. Find out why thousands of educators nationwide are using Waste in Place.
Waste in Place, Keep America Beautiful’s interdisciplinary curriculum has been created and field-tested by professional educators. Use it to teach fun, hands-on activities that develop students’ knowledge of solid waste and the environment. Waste in Place has over 30 lesson plans that teach students about preventing litter, recycling, and the ways we manage our trash. Lessons encourage critical thinking and process science skills and have been correlated to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). Each lesson has a defined objective and a list of materials needed.
To reserve your place in the one-day seminar, fill out and return the responseform below. Deadline for registration is Friday, June 8. There is no cost and each Pearland teacher attending for the first time will receive a $50 stipend for completing the course and lots of materials to support their use of the curricula.

He was active in Pearland as a volunteer in PTA, YMCA coaching, Boy Scouts, Keep Pearland Beautiful, and many other organizations. The Joe Miller Scholarship is given to graduating high school seniors from our Pearland High Schools.
