Keep Pearland Beautiful (KPB) will host the 9th annual Pocket Pear Speakeasy Party on June 10, 2017 at the Pearland Lions Club located at 3350 S. Main, Pearland, TX 77581. Please join us for a fun-filled evening of food, drinks, dancing and casino games.  Each year KPB hosts the Pocket Pear to raise funds for the Joe Miller Environmental Scholarship Fund, benefiting high school seniors in Pearland pursuing higher education.

Come dressed in your roaring 20’s attire, as we flash back to the speakeasy era, where mobsters rule the back alleys and flappers take the dance floor. Whether your coming to claim the coveted Texas Hold’em Tournament title, try your hand at Black Jack and Roulette or just want to ‘dance’, we have an evening you won’t want to miss. The Poker Tournament is limited to 50 players; be sure to select whether you want to enter the Poker Tournament or play other casino games.

Keep Pearland Beautiful is looking for some high rolling sponsors to make this a night to remember. Consider upping the ante by checking out our sponsorship levels and click here to secure your sponsorship before prohibition ends. As a benefit you will receive pre-event publicity, event day recognition and placement in our event wrap-up press release. You will also receive tickets relative to your sponsorship commitment. Keep Pearland Beautiful would like to thank our drink sponsor, Del Papa Distributing Co. and our venue sponsor, Lions Club of Pearland.

KPB hosts the Pocket Pear each year in honor of the late Joe Miller, an avid environmentalist who volunteered his time to Keep Pearland Beautiful as well as several other community organizations. Scholarships are awarded each year to high school seniors in Pearland who demonstrate good stewardship of the environment and are pursuing higher education.  In 9 years, a total of $59,000 in scholarships has been awarded.  This year, a total of $12,000 was awarded to six high school graduates from Pearland.
