Keep Pearland Beautiful partners with the City of Pearland and Pearland ISD schools for an Earth Day Celebration

March 23, 2015 – Pearland, Texas – Exhibits, games, clowns, classes and crafts will all be part of an Earth Day Celebration sponsored by Keep Pearland Beautiful (KPB), the City of Pearland and environmental clubs at Alexander, Jamison, Rogers and Sablatura middle schools in the Pearland Independent School District. Scheduled for Saturday, April 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Pearland Recreation Center, 4141 Bailey Road in Pearland, the FREE event will provide attendees of all ages a fun experience.
The event includes more than 30 games, exhibits and activities for the entire family and exposes attendees to ways to connect with the earth and take care of it in an environmentally responsible way.
There are more than 20 exhibitors, including Texas Snakes, Moody Gardens and Texas Parks and Wildlife. Middle school student from the KIPPERS (Kids In Pearland Preserving the Environment through Responsible Service) will staff the games and help with other activities. There will also be four environment related classes presented at no cost: Urban Forestry by Pearland Urban Forester Tyler Froberg; Nature Center History by Tracey Prothro of the Eddie V. Gray Wetlands Education and Recreation Center; Native Snakes and Reptiles by Clint Pustejovsky of Texas Snakes; and Composting by Brazoria County Master Gardener George Mills.
