KPB Receives Recycling Grant
Keep Texas Beautiful (KTB) has recognized Keep Pearland Beautiful as a recipient of the 2019 Waste Management Recycle Often, Recycle Right (RORR) Grant. Waste Management developed the Recycle Often, Recycle Right recycling education program based on national best practices to increase recycling and decrease contamination. In partnership with KTB, the RORR Grant provides affiliate communities with $500 – $1,500 to purchase recycling bins to either start a new recycling program (community, office, or school) or add to an existing recycling program.
Keep Pearland Beautiful has received $800 to support their school recycling program and increase community event recycling. Along with grant money to purchase bins, KTB will also provide educational materials through Waste Management’s Recycle Often, Recycle Right campaign, as well as technical assistance in placing bins or educating recyclers.
In addition to Pearland, the affiliate communities of Midland, Alton and Elkhart also received a Waste Management RORR Grant.
“We hope to continue to educate and spread awareness on the need for recycling initiatives in Texas. We are confident that our affiliates will put these grants to great use,” says Sara Nichols, Program Director for KTB. “We are proud to partner with Waste Management to offer these recycling grants to our affiliates.”
Waste Management is the leading provider of comprehensive waste management services in North America, providing services that range from collection and disposal to recycling and renewable energy generation.
“Waste Management is committed to educating the public on proper recycling practices,” says Greta Calvery, Public Affairs Manager of Waste Management “and value this opportunity to support KTB affiliates in growing their recycling programs throughout the state.”
