Curbside Recycling

Please keep your cart/bin well fed.

Yes! You may continue using your 18 gallon bin.  If you have questions about the new 96 gallon cart recycling please contact the City of Pearland Utility Billing Department at 281-652-1603 or call Keep Pearland Beautiful 281-652-1659.

Curbside Recycling is available inside Pearland city limits only and in some of the MUDs.

Use the City Property Search function to find out when your pick up days are for trash and recycling… click here and put your address in the fields in the top right corner.

Recycling is picked up by a garbage truck that delivers the items collected to the Waste Management Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) on Gasmer in Houston where the items are separated and baled together for redistribution to recyclers.

Please follow the below guidelines for recycling.


Telephone Books
Printer and Copier Paper
Mail (junk mail)
Chipboard (i.e. cereal boxes)
Cardboard flattened
Coated Papers/Cartons (clean/no food debris)
Place under other items in bin or in brown grocery sack beside bin
No cardboard contaminated with food
No coated paper
No coated papers/cartons contaminated with food



Aluminum Cans
Steel Cans
Clean Pie tins and Aluminum foil
Rinse thoroughly
No paint cans
No scrap metal



Colored and Clear Bottles and Jars
Remove lids and rinse thoroughly. Metal lids can be put into bin.
No light bulbs
No plate glass
No mirrors
No ceramics
No beverage glasses



milk jugs
water bottles
soda bottles
yogurt cartons
Please rinse and leave rings and tops on your bottles in the recycle bin.
No plastic bags
No packaging film
No polystyrene (Styrofoam ®) cups, boxes or packaging materials

To get recycling bins in MUD 2, MUD 3 or MUD 6:

  • Call Waste Management at 1-800-800-5804.
  • Tell them you are in Silverlake Brazoria County MUD 2, 3 or 6.
  • They will deliver a recycling bin to you.
Recycling pick up is Fridays in all of those MUDS.

Want to stop receiving telephone directories? The site allows consumers to opt-out of any directory currently being delivered to your home. The site, developed in partnership between the Local Search Association and the Association of Directory Publishers, provides a convenient and secure option for residents to control the number of Yellow Pages telephone directories they receive or to stop directory delivery entirely.
